Is membership required to shoot?
No, membership is not required. We accommodate potential members who want to try the club before committing to membership. Contact Us to set up an appointment.
What are the benefits of a membership at Bushy Creek Clays?
Members at Bushy Creek enjoy daily access for full use of the premises that include over two miles of improved trails for carts or walking, opportunities for primitive camping and viewing wildlife in its natural habitat.
What type of shells can I shoot?
The maximum load allowed is 1 1/8 oz in 7 ½, 8, and 9 shot. You can shoot 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge or .410 bore.
What type of gun is allowed on the course?
You can only shoot shotguns at Bushy Creek Clays. All shotguns 12 through .410 bore are welcome. No rifles, pistols, or revolvers are allowed on the sporting clays courses or the property. All guns MUST BE UNLOADED with actions open at all times.
How old do children have to be to shoot at Bushy Creek Clays?
Generally, children 6 years or older can shoot as long as they are accompanied by an adult. However, physical ability will prevail.
What is the difference between true pairs and report pairs?
A true pair is when two targets are thrown at exactly the same time. A report pair is when one target is thrown first and the second one is released after the first one has been fired upon.
What are the hours of operation?
Members have unlimited access but shooting is restricted to 9AM until sunset daily.
Is cart transportation needed?
Carts are not required as many members enjoy walking at their leisure. The course distance is approximately two miles and contains numerous seating areas.
How much time should I allot for a round of sporting clays?
A 100 target round of sporting clay generally can be concluded in less than two hours.
Are non-shooters allowed to accompany the shooters?
Yes, all spectators are required to wear eye and ear protection. All spectators must comply with all course rules and be accompanied by the host member.
